Aladin was developed and maintained by the Centre de Données Astronomiques de Strasbourg (CDS) and is one of several tools that comprise the European Virtual Observatory (VO) toolset. The Aladin Sky Atlasis perhaps the most exciting and useful tool for the amateur astronomer.
